RINCON, GA (WTOC)- New details have been released about a January wreck on Rincon-Stillwell Rd. that claimed the life of Effingham County High School student Christian Cowan, 18, and injured Travis Williams, 18.

Georgia State Patrol says they discovered Dust-Off in both Williams and Cowan's system. Amphetamines were also found in Williams' system.

A GSP crash report lists Cowan as the driver, but in the written information, the trooper states he was unable to determine which party was operating the car at the time of the crash.

SPRINGFIELD, GA (WTOC)- The Effingham County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in connection with an early Thursday morning shooting that hospitalized a man who suffered from multiple gunshot wounds.

Deputies responded to Quail Run Circle at approximately 1 a.m. on a report of multiple shots fired and people screaming.

When deputies arrived, they discovered what appeared to be a crime scene as well as witnesses who said the victim was transported to Effingham Hospital.
