Police investigate Rincon fire as arson | News
RINCON, GA (WTOC)- Rincon police were near the Willowpeg Apartments Tuesday when they found a residence on Willowpeg Way that had visible smoke coming from the second floor. Police notified the Rincon Fire Department and they responded and extinguished the fire. At the time of the fire, the residence was unoccupied.
The Rincon Police Department, with assistance from the Effingham County Sheriff's Office and the State Fire Marshall's Office, are investigating the fire as an arson. Authorities believe that it was not a random event and say neighboring residents have no reason to be alarmed.
